چکیده

Introduction: The aim of this study was to assess the agreement between oral and maxillofacial radiologists (OMFR) surgeons (OMFS) for detection bifid mandibular canal (BMC) accessory mental foramen (AMF) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Material Methods: This retrospective involved 22 examiners (11 OMFR 11 OMFS) who independently assessed 30 CBCT volumes from patients (n = 60 hemi-mandibles) under preoperative radiographic evaluation implant placement. scored presence BMC AMF in each hemimandible. interexaminer agreements were Fleiss' kappa statistics. Results: For intra-examiner agreement, 40% sample reevaluated. OMFS slight (0.12) fair (0.24) AMF. among (0.22), it (0.15). substantial (0.61), (0.22). Agreements AMF, years experience. Intraexaminer ranged 60% 90% 55% OMFS. Conclusion: A a found respectively. In general, obtained higher themselves, mainly

Anatomic Characteristics of Mental Foramen and Anterior Loop of Mandibular Canal in a population of South IRAN : a cone-beam computed tomography study

Introduction: Regarding the anatomic variety in the anterior mandible it is necessary to obtain adequate information about the vital structures in this area to protect them in dental surgeries and preventing injuries that might occur afterwards. The aim of this study is to describe anatomic characteristics of mental foramen and anterior loop on CBCT images.  Materials and Methods: On CBCT imag...
